	Born and Raised Charters specializes in live bait/light tackle flats and backcountry fishing. Capt. Michael Bassett is a native of the Florida Keys. He is USCG. licensed. His boat is a 19 ft. Dusky powered by a brand new 2003 Yamaha 115hp 4 stroke outboard which takes you, your family and friends quickly to the pristine waters of the Florida Keys for an exciting day of fishing and sightings of porpoises, sea turtles, stingrays and a variety of birds in the pristine waters of the Florida Keys. Capt. Mike targets permit, snook, seatrout, tarpon, snapper, redfish, triple tail, Spanish mackerel, and sharks year round.
		Capt. Mike was born on Marathon Key in 1963 and raised on Lower Matecumbe Key. He has been fishing the waters of the Florida Keys offshore and backcountry since childhood under the tutelage of local captains and mates, including working during summer school vacations as a mate on The "Capt. Jack" out of Bud & Mary’s Marina in Islamorada and later catching lobster and stone crab on The "Dragnet" out of Lower Matecumbe Key. Before starting his own business, Mike worked as a mate on the "Yankee Freedom" and "Yankee Capt's" on trips to the Dry Tortugas National Park out of Key West.
	You will enjoy fishing and exploring the Florida Keys backcountry with an enthusiastic captain who has a wealth of knowledge and experience and who is patient with novice anglers and avid with more experienced saltwater anglers. In the spring and summer months he offers both early morning and early evening trips to catch tarpon. During the winter months he will do day or night trips.
	Families are Welcome aboard Born and Raised Charters! Whatever your wishes for a day of fun and adventure, Captain Mike will make it happen. You will need to bring a light jacket, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, drinks and food. Capt. Mike provides the cooler and ice. Also be sure to bring a camera to bring your memories to life again and again. Born & Raised Charters can accommodate up to 3 anglers on our boat.
